I just recently bought one of these, and I must say that for the money they work pretty well.  I think they do a great job of loosening some of the surface dirt before you use a mitt to wash.  Anything that accomplishes that has to reduce on swirl marks, which the fewer of those that are made, the better!

If you want to see a video of what they look like just check it out here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZEOw1HFN1J0

Which kind do you use?  I seen the video with the less professional looking one compared to the foamaster......you can totally tell with the qualify of foam suds that sprays out.......

What kind do you use??

I bought the Gilour Foamaster II and for the price it does everything I want.  It's not quite in the budget yet to get a pressure washer.  I highly recommend it.

I have been considering buying the foamaster, but everyone I have spoken to has suggested that it isnt that great, and that I am to buy the HD foam lance.

I really want to buy the gilmour as i dont want the hassle of getting the pressure washer out everytime I want to wash my car, especially if I need to was the other 3 cars in the household

From what I have read so far, the gilmour is good in areas with half decent water pressure, and produces half decent foam on the right setting with the right product inside it

I really just want it to remove most of the grit and dirt before I touch the paint.

Will I really be that disappointed with it?

Thanks,

Ashley.

Ashley,

It depends on what you're looking for.  I didn't want to spend the money on a pressure washer... but rather wanted just as you said, something to remove most of the grit etc. before I actually washed the car.  I foam the car up a bit, and spray it off and then know that I'm not grinding anything into the paint.  It's really not that expensive at $40.  Furthermore, I'm not a professional detailer, but rather a weekend warrior.  It meets my needs.  If you want "more power" and something that will blast off any dirt, go the foam lance route.  Hope it helps.

I greatly  appreciate this, actually i am using it for cleaning my car. Foaming attachment provides a fan spray, removes for a solid stream. Deflector attachment for non foaming fan spray patterns. Optional longer distance foam wand available.
